We encourage troops and Girl Scouts to plan and execute activities that benefit sister Girl Scouts, our service unit, and our community. This includes money earning events, which benefit a specific troop towards their troop goals or travel plans for future experiences. In order for events to be approved by the service unit in a smooth timely manner, the following documents and forms must be submitted prior to the event.
To gain ideas for council approved Money Earning Guidelines, please read here.
Money Earning Application and Report: All required forms to be submitted to SUM as one packet, either printed or emailed as a PDF, 2 months in advance of the event date:
Service Unit Events are a slightly different process, but the event planning packet is a great resource for walking troops through their event timelines and the process of planning out a successful event. If you have any additional questions or need clarification, or you have an idea about an event you'd like to host, feel free to contact the Shark Squad- our dedicated Service Unit Team.

- Money Earning Application
- Event Flier- there are lots of templates that work great!
- Copy of Plan 2 Insurance with copy of proof of payment-if applicable.
- Actual form must be filled out and mailed to council at least 3 weeks in advance! Multiple events can be listed on the Plan 2 form and paid for with one check, as long as the individual dates are listed and the total persons are calculated. Minimum is $5. Tip- take a picture of the check with the application before you mail it!
- Plan 2 insurance form is only required for participation of tag-alongs and non-registered members, such as adults that have an active background check on file but are NOT registered Girl Scouts. All current Girl Scouts and Adult members do not need to be counted, they’re already covered.
- Money Earning Report to be submitted within 30 days after event to SUM and Treasurer so that funds can be properly allocated and noted on bank account balance.
